In the book, for the first time, a comprehensive analysis of data from various sciences on the gene pool of the Russian people was carried out on the basis of gene-geographic technology. All currently available information about the physical appearance, skin patterns, blood types, autosomal DNA markers, mitochondrial DNA, Y chromosome and the surnames of hundreds of Russian populations is brought together. All these seven "witnesses" speak to the reader in the language of cards. The authors conducted an extensive expeditionary study of the Russian population - from the White Sea to the Black Sea. But in order to penetrate into the history of the Russian gene pool, its "portrait" had to be painted against the background not only of Europe, but of the whole of Eurasia. For this, a huge array of literary data is involved. One hundred and twenty-five cards of the book will allow the reader to see all the gene pools with their own eyes. The book is intended for researchers of various specialties, teachers, students and a wide range of readers who like to receive information from the hands of scientists themselves.
