The Age of Faith. The era of knowledge. The fundamental work of the famous French historian of Russian origin, Professor Lev Polyakov, the author of numerous works on the history of the Holocaust and anti-Semitism. The two-volume monograph is devoted to the history of anti-Semitism from ancient times to the middle of the 20th century and examines in detail the history of relations between Jews and surrounding peoples, analyzing the roots of xenophobia and the catastrophes it caused. The object of the author's research is the collision and mutual influence of cultures over two millennia. Polyakov Lev Vladimirovich (1910 - 1997) - French historian, specialist in the field of the Holocaust and anti-Semitism. Author of the four-volume History of Anti-Semitism. In 1937 Initiated into the Parisian Masonic lodge "Jupiter". In 1939, Polyakov was mobilized into the French army and on June 13, 1940 he was captured. But already in August 1940, Polyakov fled from the camp. Since 1946, Polyakov, having access to a large number of German documents from the war, began to publish studies on the history of anti-Semitism and the Holocaust. In 1981, he wrote his autobiography The Musicians' Tavern, in which he describes his participation in the Resistance movement.
