Who, where, when and for what purpose first invented Tarot cards remains a mystery to this day, despite the considerable number of books and articles that have been trying to shed light on the mystery surrounding them for decades now. The enduring charm of cards is evidenced not only by these sometimes dry scientific, sometimes absurd mystical works, but also by the delight that an ordinary person experiences when he picks up a Tarot deck; and endless attempts on the part of skeptics to ridicule this hobby or reduce it to the level of fortune telling with coffee grounds, crystal balls and other oddities, fortunately, were not crowned with success. Whatever the tarot cards are, they continue to hold the human imagination for at least five hundred years, and perhaps much longer. And they are not going to disappear yet.
