```The Tao of Bioenergetics`` is the first comprehensive study of the doctrine of energy as a scientific model (paradigm) in Eastern and Western thinking. The book examines Chinese teachings about the universal energy of qi (in the light of ``I-Ching``) and the energy practices of Chinese astrology and medicine, Feng Shui and Taoist `internal alchemy`` (qigong). The author shows that the discoveries of the ancient Chinese masters were largely repeated and confirmed by Hippocrates, Paracelsus and Mesmer. Readers of the books by Mantak Chia and Yang Junming will be interested to know how the theory of qigong finds confirmation in the works of the founders of modern psychology - Sigmund Freud, Carl Gustav Jung, Wilhelm Reich, who developed their own original teachings about various types of bioenergy. Particular attention is paid to the experiments of Wilhelm Reich, convincingly proving the objective existence of those phenomena that Chinese qigong has become famous for. In conclusion, the author proposes his own version of the synthesis of the energy paradigms of ancient Chinese metaphysics and modern science. George Katchmer is an American lawyer who has been studying modern Western psychology and Eastern teachings - Japanese Budo, Zen, Tibetan Buddhism and Taoism for over 27 years. Published three books at the YMAA Publishing Center.`
