The works of the American mathematician V. Vazov are already known to the Soviet reader (Vazov V., Forsyth D., Difference methods for solving partial differential equations, IL, 1963). This book of his is devoted to methods of asymptotic expansions for ordinary differential equations. These methods can be used in many problems in mechanics, electronics, astrophysics, etc. The monograph contains many examples and problems for independent solution, as well as an extensive bibliography. The book is of interest both to mathematicians and to physicists, mechanics and research engineers. It can be used as a textbook for senior students of universities and technical universities.
