Vievarum - this is how one of the most educated Decembrists, Nikita Muravyov, signed a secret document, the first Russian constitution. The secrets of Russian history are Nathan Eidelman's favorite topic. The reader will visit, together with the author, the meetings of the Decembrists, look into the encrypted pages of Pushkin's manuscripts, go in search of disappeared people to both Siberia and Polynesia, get acquainted with little-known facts of the biography of General Ermolov, Prince Dolgorukov, Herzen and Ogarev...
< p>N. Y. Eidelman explains the title of his work this way:
“The book is called “Vievarum” in honor of Vievarum. However, there will be nothing or almost nothing about a person with that name in the book.
Why Well?
But because VIEVARUM is a secret, and the book is about scientific secrets; it seems to the author that he has the right to put any mysterious, secret, encrypted, mysterious word in the title of such a book; but the man is not at all a stranger to the heroes of the story, and in school history textbooks it is written about him, and later, perhaps, we will return to the mystery of Vievarum itself..."
And the author invites you on a journey - entertaining and mysterious:
"In recent years I have been lucky enough to travel a lot, experience incredible, at least for me, adventures, meet the most amazing people.
Only travel, adventures and meetings took me 150– 200 years ago: scientific travels, scientific adventures However, traveling alone is boring, and talking about your wanderings is even more boring. That is why I want to go on a hunt for historical secrets with the reader, and these secrets will not be in distant lands and millennia, but among seemingly long-known people and events of our native history. We will penetrate the secret gatherings of the Decembrists and look into the encrypted pages of Pushkin’s hidden poems; together with Chernyshevsky’s student we will go to the ends of the world, to Polynesia, and in search of people who have disappeared without a trace - to the Transbaikal and Nerchinsk mines; we will calmly read the document, once hidden in the iron chest of the State Archive, and then destroyed by the highest will; Finally, we also admit that we don’t know everything yet. So, set off along barely trodden scientific paths, and on either side is the unknown, alluring but patient."
