Filippov Boris Real name and surname Boris Andreevich Filistinsky. (August 6, 1905, Stavropol - May 3, 1991, University Hills near Washington). Writer, poet, publisher, teacher. One of the most famous figures of the Russian diaspora. During the Great Patriotic War - a collaborator. Born in the family of an officer who died at the front of the First World War. Mother worked as a dentist. Nephew of Academician-Mongolian S. A. Kozin. He graduated from Lizhvya (1924-1928), specialized in Mongolian studies, was interested in Buddhism and Hinduism. While studying in 1927, he was arrested for 2 months for participating in the religious and philosophical circle of S. A. Askoldov “The Brotherhood of St. Seraphim of Sarov. In 1933 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Industrial Construction Engineers. Rearrested in 1936; sentenced to 5 years in labor camp. In the Komi camps until 1941; after his release he settled in Novgorod. In 1941-1943 - in the German occupation in Novgorod. In 1944-1945 - in Latvia and West Germany. It is widely believed that during the Great Patriotic War, Filipov headed the occupation police, participated in mass destruction and personally killed more than 150 people. Apparently, this information is not true. At the same time, it is a proven fact that he was a regular contributor to the Pskov collaborationist newspaper For the Motherland (in this publication, he published a number of articles about repressed figures of Russian culture). In 1944, in connection with the approach of Soviet troops to Novgorod, he left with the retreating Germans. In 1944-1945. lived in Latvia, in Riga, where he published his first book, then in Germany. After the end of the war, he ended up in Bavaria, lived in a refugee camp near Kassel near Munich. Despite the fact that the Soviet authorities persistently sought the extradition of Filippov as a war criminal, he avoided forced repatriation to the USSR. Filippov himself in the post-war period always categorically denied his participation in war crimes, including accusations of the Soviet authorities of his participation in the massacres in Novgorod. In 1944 in Riga he published a collection of poems, The Invisible City. Peru Filippov owns more than 20 collections with numerous essays, stories and poems. He devoted his work to Russia, was a great connoisseur of music and painting. Published in the magazines "Frontiers" and "Sowing" (Frankfurt am Main). Edited independently and jointly with Gleb Struve over 70 books by Russian writers. In the USA since 1950. Lived in New York, since 1954 - in Washington, where he taught, wrote and did editorial work. He has lectured at New York, Kansas, Yale, and Vanderbilt Universities. He was a professor at the American University in Washington. He headed the Inter-Language Literary Associates publishing house, which published more than 50 books of literary works, critical, psychological and philosophical works banned in the USSR [Union of Soviet Socialist Republics]. Author of more than 30 books, collections of poems and prose, literary criticism, history of literature. He published collections of poems Bad Weather (1960), Burden of Time (1961), Frontiers (1962) and others. Filippov considered the past through the prism of the present and used Russian folklore in his works. Collaborated in the newspaper "New Russian Word" (New York). Filippov's works became known in his homeland, when chapters from the book "Selected" were published in the journal "Sever" (1990. November, December) under the general title "Crosses and Crossings". In 1990, Filippov's last book, "Various in Memory," was published. He was a member of the RAG [Russian Academic Group] in the USA. US citizen.

Основано в 1945 году в лагере для перемещённых лиц Мёнхенгоф в американской зоне оккупации Германии. В 1947 году издательство переезжает в Лимбург-на-Лане, а в январе — во Франкфурт-на-Майне. В 1992 году открыт филиал в Москве.
