The Military Encyclopedic Dictionary (WED) is a one-volume scientific reference publication. The main purpose of the publication is to provide a systematized and uniform interpretation of military concepts and terms in a concise form. The Dictionary contains articles on problems of war and politics, military economics, military science, military art, military construction, military history, military equipment and military geography. The materials of the Dictionary reveal the current state of military affairs and the main stages of its development, and provide characteristics of the most common types (complexes) of weapons. Country publications contain brief general information and information about the armed forces. The Dictionary also contains biographical information about statesmen and politicians, Russian, Soviet and foreign commanders and military leaders, war heroes, major military scientists, designers, inventors, etc. In total, the VES contains about 14 thousand articles, some of which are illustrated with maps, diagrams, drawings, photographs.
