Jules Verne is an extremely popular French writer, the founder of science fiction along with H.G. Wells. Verne's works, written for both teenagers and adults, captured the entrepreneurial spirit of the 19th century, its charm, scientific progress and inventions. His novels were mostly written in the form of travelogues, taking readers to the moon in From the Earth to the Moon or in a completely different direction in Journey to the Center of the Earth. Many of Verne's ideas turned out to be prophetic. Among his most famous books is the adventure novel Around the World in 80 Days (1873).

The publication was published under the supervision of K.I. Dombrovsky (Soviet science fiction writer, director and screenwriter) and K.P. Stanyukovich (physicist, laureate of the USSR State Prize, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor). The publication uses illustrations by French artists, contemporaries of Jules Verne: Emile Bayard, Leon Benett, Henry Meyer, Henri de Monto, Alphonse de Neuville, Edouard Rioux, Georges Roux, Jules Fert. All internal illustrations in the books are printed on inserts, without attribution.

The books are in very good condition, with some imperfections in the last photos (the back cover of the binding is a little worn and one sheet is slightly torn).
