The collection of one of the founders of Soviet science fiction literature, Alexander Romanovich Belyaev, includes the novel “The Island of Lost Ships,” three stories: “Radiopolis,” “Eternal Bread,” “Amphibian Man,” the script “When the Lights Go Out,” as well as eleven short stories, including the story “The Head of Professor Dowell.” The texts are printed based on the first newspaper, magazine and book editions, along with the illustrations published there.

Alexander Romanovich Belyaev is deservedly considered one of the founders of Soviet science fiction literature; his legacy includes more than 70 science fiction works, including seventeen novels. Already during his lifetime he was called the “Russian Jules Verne.”
