Sergei Mikhailovich Belyaev (1883-1953) - Russian writer, one of the few Soviet science fiction writers of the 1930s-1940s. He is the author of several books of "hard" science fiction, in which the adventure storyline coexists with abundantly used science fiction material. He graduated from the medical faculty of Yuriev University, worked as a doctor, and from 1905 began to engage in literary activities. He wrote essays and short stories. The first major work, Notes of a Soviet Doctor (1926), was very much liked by Vladimir Mayakovsky, he even advised S. Belyaev to call it the Notebook of a Soviet Doctor, as it seemed to him more modern. This was followed by the science fiction novels Radio Brain (1927), Fighter 2Z (1939), The Adventures of Samuel Pingle (1945), The Tenth Planet (1945), The Lightning Lord (1947) and others, which became the present is already the history of the formation of the science fiction genre, but has not lost its intrigue.
