The first volume includes works that represent a fairly complete picture of his views on the world, knowledge, man: "Rules for the guidance of the mind" (in a new translation), "The search for truth through natural light", "The World, or Treatise on Light" , "Discourse on the Method", "Principles of Philosophy", "Description of the Human Body. On the Formation of the Animal", "Passion of the Soul", "Small Works of 1619-1621". The selected correspondence included in the volume (published for the first time in Russian) contributes to a better understanding of the thinker's views. For the first time in Russian, the work "Remarks on a certain program published in Belgium at the end of 1647..." is published.

The condition of the book is very good, rather unread, there is only one imperfection (last photos).
