The religious and philosophical novel “The Life of Apollonius of Tyana” in 8 books was written on behalf of the wife of Emperor Septimius Severus Julia Domna in order to prove , that the famous miracle worker of paganism, the neo-Pythagorean Apollonius, who lived in the 1st century AD. e., was not a magician or wizard, but an outstanding ascetic, preacher, divinely gifted seer, miracle worker and true sage.
