The novel "Say Raisins" by Vasily Aksyonov is a vivid, satirically pointed picture of Soviet society in the seventies. During the years of Brezhnev’s stagnation, it would seem that already quite “herbivorous”, photographers conceived an unprecedented idea - to publish an uncensored album “Say raisins” in twelve copies ... But vigilant “glands” (aka “organs”) always know better that citizens of the Land of Soviets should think about how to act (did anyone really allow them to do this?). And if freethinkers start up a thought or two outside the circle of what is permitted, then they will be severely tested: the “glands” of anyone are ready to drown in a swamp of lies, and if necessary, even in an ordinary swamp. This novel was created by Vasily Aksyonov on the basis of real events - the preparation of the sensational almanac "Metropol".
