Writer, publicist, famous dissident - Vladimir Bukovsky (b. 1942) talks about the years spent in prisons and camps, about underground political associations and open protests, about poetry readings at the monument to Mayakovsky and demonstrations in defense of convicts, about surveillance and conspiracy, about the psychology of a person living in a totalitarian state.
Vladimir Konstantinovich Bukovsky (December 30, 1942, Belebey, Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, USSR - October 27, 2019, Cambridge, UK) - Russian writer, political and public figure, one of the founders of the dissident movement in the USSR. In total, he spent 12 years in prisons and forced treatment. In 1976, the Soviet authorities exchanged Bukovsky for the leader of the Chilean communists, Luis Corvalan, after which Bukovsky moved to the UK and lives in Cambridge. In 2007, he was nominated as a candidate for the presidency of Russia in the 2008 elections, but his candidacy was not registered by the Central Election Commission
