The Continent magazine was founded in Paris in 1974 by the writer Vladimir Maksimov. Since 1992 it has been published in Moscow. The journal published such authors as V. Aksenov, V. Voinovich, S. Dovlatov, Ven. Erofeev, V. Nekrasov, I. Brodsky, A. Galich, N. Gorbanevskaya, S. Lipkin, I. Lisnyanskaya and others.
