“Philokalia” (Greek: Φιλοκαλία - “Philokalia”, Church Slav. Philokalia) is a collection of spiritual works by Orthodox authors of the 4th-15th centuries. Most of the texts belong to the tradition of hesychasm. The collection was compiled by Metropolitan Macarius of Corinth[German] and Nicodemus the Holy Mountain and was first published in Greek in 1782 in Venice by Anthony Wortoli.
