Cover of the work by D.I. Mitrokhin, headbands based on the ornaments of the peoples of the Volga region - S.Ya. Zabello. Circulation - 10,000.

This is the first edition of the guide; in subsequent editions the number of maps and illustrations will be expanded. From the preface to the second edition of 1926:

“The success of the first edition of “Povolzhye”, published in 10,000 copies and sold out in a short time, showed how timely this publication was and met the needs of wide circles of the population. The interest shown prompted me to publish. The board will release a second edition with updated content. In addition to using the latest statistical data and adding new illustrations, the publication contains a new article by S. A. Zolotarev “The Volga region - a nursery of Russian culture.”

Articles by S. S. Neustruev, A. P. Ilyinsky, P. N. Mostovenko and M. D. Semenov-Tyan-Shansky have been revised; route descriptions and maps were changed and significantly supplemented with new data; The information department has been partially replaced and significantly enlarged. Thus, the editors sought to improve “The Volga Region” in every possible way and make it more accessible in terms of the popularity of the presentation for a wide range of readers.

Releasing the second edition of “Volga Region”, the Board of the Volga State River Shipping Company expresses deep gratitude to all institutions, individuals and employees of the Volga State Shipping Company who assisted by providing materials, comments, additions or reviews and collecting new data. The book is in good condition for its age. The pages are intact, the maps and illustrations are intact, the cover and spine are intact. Everything is in place . The book requires gluing (several pages have come off)
