The book of the outstanding Russian historian and geographer Lev Gumilyov is devoted to the history of Russia from the time of Rurik to the creation of the Russian Empire by Peter the Great, and all the events and actions of historical figures are explained from the standpoint of the author's passionate theory of ethnogenesis. In 1995, Lev Gumilyov was awarded the state prize for the book "From Russia to Russia" as a work that made an outstanding contribution to the understanding of Russia, its history and its spirit, thanks to which the book was recommended by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation as a textbook for high school students and university students.
